Amici Ensemble was formed by Donald Armstrong, the Associate Concertmaster of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, in 1988 to perform works for many varieties of combination of instruments. Once again, in 2019, he draws together principal musicians from the NZSO to present an innovative programme. The Amici Ensemble is noted for its musicality and ability to relate to audiences - “splendid playing of a winning programme ..” - Dominion Post.

Amici Ensemble are Donald Armstrong (violin), Andrew Thomson (viola), Ken Ichinose (cello), Joan Perarnau Garriga (bass), Bridget Douglas (flute), Robert Orr (oboe), Patrick Barry (clarinet), Robert Weeks (bassoon) and Samuel Jacobs (horn).
Memberships and season Flexi-tickets available on our website. School children accompanying a paying adult do not require an admission ticket. All concerts are "general admission" so please arrive in time to get a good seat - doors open around 20 minutes before.
