Ed Sheeran Announces New Zealand Tour
The British musician will be performing in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland in April 2015 and is the first musician in twenty years to undertake a headline national arena tour completely solo. Sheeran will be performing his best loved songs, including The A Team, Sing, I See Fire and You Don't Need Me, I Don't Need You, on only his acoustic guitar and loop pedal.
Sheeran began his career by creating and selling independent EPs at the age of fifteen. By 2009 he was performing more than 300 shows a year in Great Britain and had developed a huge and dedicated online following. He released his debut album + (pronounced 'plus') in 2011, which saw him win British Breakthrough Act and Best Solo Male Artist at the 2012 Brit awards and sold 1.8 million copies in the UK alone.
Sheeran released his Rick Rubin-produced follow up, X ('multiply') in June 2014 and like his debut, it topped the album charts in New Zealand.
