The Whangamata Summer Festival has been hosting this event for over 12 years. It is the largest market in the region and is a myriad of sights, sounds and smells with food & drink stalls, a huge range of craft, instruments, jewellery, fun rides for the children, and much, much more. The Craft Market day is hugely popular and is a fundraiser for our community festival which runs 28th Dec - 2nd Jan.
The Craft Market is attended by thousands of locals and holidaymakers and is set in all three fields of Williamson Reserve, just behind the Surf Club. There is sun and shade, parking and toilets and a cafe nearby. What more could one want?
This year we're having an all day and night craft market. It will run from 9am - 9pm on the 28th of December. Set up from 7am for stallholders.
We have a massive array of craft and food booked already, from original art to hair braiding and henna tattoos, garden ornaments & plants, samosas and fresh hand made fritters! Heaps of kiwiana inspired art and crafts, handmade one off clothing, designer printed tee shirts, chilli & olive oils and products, nuts, sweet treats, fresh & smoked fish, berries, organics, hammocks, handmade bird whistles, loads of stuff for the kids, clothes and toys and tools for the garden & kitchen... oh my, I could go on and on, but best you get there!
The Festival of night entertainment is brought to you by the money raised all year by our tireless committee. Four nights of free entertainment 29th Dec - 1st Jan.
