Santa parade alert! Dust off your tinsel, the date for this year's Santa Parade and Family Fun Day has been marked on the calendar for Saturday 1st December.
How could we possibly have more fun than usual this year? Well, we can look forward to a combined extravaganza with Blockhouse Bay Primary School. Not only will we enjoy our very special local free Christmas event, we are delighted to have the primary school PTA come on board once again to extend the morning's festivities by having their Family Fun Day commence straight after the Christmas parade. This was a huge success last year and will be even bigger and better than last year with major attractions such as The Cookie Bear Road Show and the Newfoundland Dogs - You will not want to miss this great event....
Many enquiries have already been received by Jan Pitout, the Blockhouse Bay Village Centre Manager and coordinator of this annual free community event. The free entertainment starts at 9.30am with clowns, face-painting, balloon twisters, and more, much more... Lots of festive stalls, musical entertainment, bouncy castles, mini gym and robotics to amuse the kids in the build up to the procession which gets underway at 10.45am sharp.
Should your community group, school or association wish to participate in the celebrations, whether it be in the procession or as a stallholder or volunteer, please contact her by e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or 021-048-4248 for more details.
Note that the following roads will be closed from 9.00am to 1.00pm:
Blockhouse Bay Road (between Exminster Street and Gill Crescent/Gillfillan Street) and Exminster Street (between the western entrance to Windermere and Blockhouse Bay Roads).
