This week the Rotorua primary schools are hosting a festival for many of our primary and intermediate schools. The festival shows a variety of traditional and contemporary Maori singing and dancing. You will see many children entertaining all our whanau, friends and anyone else who is interested in seeing our young children perform on stage. This is a week-long event. The first performance commences at 5.30pm and the last performance is at 8.30pm. The festival is from Monday through to Friday.
This festival is an annual event and has been in existence for approximately 32 years. Our aim is for all children to have an opportunity to be part of an event where each school showcase their kapa haka and story telling through the medium of song and dance. It also showcases the history of Te Arawa in the form of storytelling, singing and dancing.
