Sam Hunt and Gary McCormick go back a long way. They led the charge during the ‘70s' 'Poetry in Pubs' campaign. And once again they are hitting the road with a raucous mix of poetry, anecdote and humour.
Sam Hunt celebrated his 66th birthday this year with a new collection of poems: Knucklebones: Poems 1962 – 2012.
Assisted by old mate McCormick (Hunt briefly taught at Mana College in Porirua where McCormick was Head Boy), the duo is always keen to reminisce about their work together over 40 years.
The two reunited for the high profile ‘Roaring Forties Tour’ in the early ‘90s – the subject of a large book and television documentary.
Between them these close friends have a wealth of New Zealand stories and poems, and promise a rewarding and entertaining afternoon of poetry and laughter.
