Blue Valentine - dinner and concert featuring Jan Preston, Mike Garner and Andrew London.
Looking for a special treat for that special person on Valentine's Day? How about dinner at the Millennium Hotel, followed by a special concert featuring Australia's Queen of the Boogie piano, and both Mike Garner (Rotorua/ex UK bluesman) and Andrew London (of "Hot Club Sandwich")
Jan Preston, Kiwi girl from the West Coast, is a long time Sydney resident and is a hot property on the piano in both countries. Regularly touring in Australia, Asia and Europe, Prestons' blues, ragtime and old favourites, all laced with her witty stories make her shows an engaging performance, always a sell-out in Rotorua.
Mike Garner and Andrew London - a combination of two of the country's best acoustic musicians, pairing Garner's blues, old time and original songs with London's virtuoso command of guitars, bouzouki and banjo. Garner has taken his brand of acoustic blues to Australia, the Pacific, Nepal and Europe. Legendary US blues man Doug Macleod says "Part of the fun of going to New Zealand for me is getting to hear Mike Garner. He's one of my favourites."
Andrew London is one of New Zealand's busiest full-time musicians. As a multi-instrumentalist comfortable in a range of genres, he performs with jazz trios, classic rock covers bands, country music stage shows and as a soloist. He fronts the popular swing-oriented Hot Club Sandwich.
Pre-concert dinner special: Nikau Restaurant at the Millennium Hotel serves innovative cuisine using produce unique to New Zealand. Pre Concert ’Roast of the Day’ special $18.50 - Reservations are essential. Phone (07) 347 1234
