Plants are the basis of food for all animals and they create oxygen for all living things.
The native plants at the Brook Waimarama Sanctuary support a variety of very special birds and animals.
Come and explore this special world – Starting With Plants – a new family exhibition at Nelson Provincial Museum full of beautiful photos, large scale models and hands-on activities. Then go to the Brook Sanctuary and walk amongst the bush and the birds. Many of the plants have traditionally been used by Maori as food and medicine.
