This major exhibition, proudly presented by the Whangarei Museum at Kiwi North, commemorates the centennial of World War 1 through the memories and stories of Northlanders.
Audio and visual displays of actual war time footage combine with present day interviews with families, sharing the tales that have been handed down - as treasured as the few personal items that accompany them.
Large panels follow the milestones of the War and New Zealand's involvement, with text and illustrations.
Poetry of the time can be heard and read at individual stations, and iPads are available for relevant research.
All this along with a fabulous display of artifacts from the Museum collection and some generously loaned, blend to present an informative but poignant and moving exhibition that is of interest to all.
