The London Klezmer Quartet takes you on a musical odyssey. Whirling, irresistible energy and soulful melodies old and new are brought to you by Ilana Cravitz (fiddle), Susi Evans (clarinet), Carol Isaacs (accordion), and Indra Buraczewska (double bass & vocals). Celebration and soul in a musical fusion that sparkles with life. Critics say: "Klezmer at its most beguiling and seductive. The subtleties of the original tradition combined with a kick-the-chairs-over ability to party."
As well as bringing fresh life to an almost-lost instrumental folk tradition through a huge repertoire of dance tunes and lyrical melodies - some self-composed - LKQ features the irresistibly sonorous vocals of Indra Buraczewska in traditional laments, a Warsaw Yiddish theatre hit with a hint of jazz (‘Goodbye New York’) and even a song about beetroot soup. Prepare to be engaged in foot-tapping and backing vocals - if not all-out dancing! – as you join the LKQ party on their debut tour of NZ.
