There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea." Portrait of a Lady, Henry James, 1881.

Gather a group of friends and don your finery for your annual chance to enjoy High Tea at Alberton.

On the verandah overlooking the garden or in the grand ballroom, enjoy a classic High Tea luncheon or a lighter Devonshire afternoon tea served from vintage bone china and antique silverware, on tables adorned with antique linens and floral displays.

A specially selected menu of boutique teas from Harney & Sons Fine Teas will be on offer. Live harp music will create a soft serenade as you contemplate the beauty of the summer garden or the opulent ballroom.

12.30-2 pm High Tea luncheon: $42 (three sandwiches, savouries, cakes, and tea or coffee).
2.30-4 pm Afternoon Tea: $38 (two sandwiches, scones & cream, a mini-cake, and tea or coffee).

On the Saturday or Sunday, to totally embrace the vintage vibe of the day check-in in for a quick retro-inspired make-over in a pop-up beauty parlour run by the Beauty School Drop Outs! Glam-up with the following services:

Lips 'n' Lashes - $15
Basic Up-dos - $20
Full Makeup - $30
Heat Styling - $40.

Always an occasion, tickets make a lovely gift for birthdays, anniversaries or special occasions. Make sure you get in quick as this popular event always sells out fast. Tickets include entry to explore the house (usually $10).

Bookings are absolutely essential. For any queries please contact Alberton. If you are part of a group who have booked separately please let us know so we can seat you with your party.

Please note that Sunday's 2:30 Afternoon Tea has now sold out. There are still places for the other sessions.
