This class is best suited for students with some prior metal working knowledge.
You will design a project at the beginning of the term and work through the eight sessions to complete it. You are not required to attend all session but it is recommend for those wanting to complete more advanced projects.
You will have full access to the studio workshop. The induction will cover basic use of the forge, blacksmithing tools, the power hammer, grinding and cutting tools and standard workshop health & safety practices.
Projects can include tool making and decorative work like:
- Tools - Tongs, hammers and punches
- Utensils - Spatula, spoon, meat fork
- Decorative - brackets, numbers/letters, signage
- Create and stamp a signature piece of work
