By supporting this event you are supporting the children of the Nelson Intermediate Kapahaka Group in the mission to compete in the National Primary School Kapahaka competition in Hamilton.
The Nelson intermediate Kapahaka group is called Te Pitau Whakarei’. Last year for the first time in ten years, they competed in the regional trials. They did so well that they won a place in the national competition which takes place in November 2019.
We are all excited about this success and are working very hard to raise the funds to get to Hamilton. This is a fantastic opportunity for the tamariki and for the growth of Kapahaka and Maori culture in our region.
