Battle of the Bands is back!

We have a night of awesome music planned, with twelve talented young bands from all over the region, Kaitaia to Kawakawa, competing for big prizes. Come and join us in the main auditorium and vote for your favourite band in the People’s Choice award. Bring your friends and make some noise! Who knows, you could be watching world-famous music stars of the future!

Our impartial panel of six judges, all with music industry experience, will be looking for a tight performance, originality and an engaging musical composition. The band who impresses them most will receive an amazing promotional package including airplay on More FM, a recording session by the Music Place, professional band photos by Flash Gordon, a professional video by Creative Cavalry, and an interview on the Far North News Facebook page. Runners-up and the People’s Choice winners will be awarded cash prizes, vouchers and goodies from supporting businesses.

Stranger Paradise, who placed second in the Northland Regional Finals of SmokeFree RockQuest this year, are supporting the event, and will play during the judges’ deliberation.

Entry:
Adults – Koha
Seniors and Students – Free

This event is hosted by Be Free Youth. Find out more on our website.
We will be collecting donations towards our Mentoring through Music programme at the event, so all koha will be very gratefully accepted.

With a big thank you to our generous sponsors:
The Turner Centre, More FM, Creative Cavalry, LJ Hooker Kerikeri, Jan & Yvette at LJ Hooker, Whangarei Rockshop, The Music Place, Flash Gordon Photography, Take Five
