Due to have a mastectomy? Or had a mastectomy but hesitated regarding reconstruction?
Five plastic surgeons will outline your options at a Breast Reconstruction Awareness (BRA) evening, funded by Breast Cancer Foundation NZ, on Wednesday October 16th.
It’s a great opportunity to find answers to all your questions. For example, should you have an implant? If so - immediate or delayed? Will your breasts end up evenly-shaped? What about your nipples?
Dr Meredith Simcock, Dr Amber Moazzam, Dr Rita Yang, Dr Alessandra Canal and Dr Michelle Locke will talk about all the different options for reconstruction and how to work out which one is best for you.
The event will be held at Auckland University Medical School, Grafton campus, starting at 6.30pm with a welcome from Evangelia Henderson, chief executive of Breast Cancer Foundation NZ. The panel will be followed by drinks, nibbles, and the opportunity to meet patients and see exhibits.
Medical professionals are also invited to attend. BRA Day has been approved for up to 1.5 CME credits for the General Practice Educational Programme (GPEP) and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) purposes.
