Join us over a few nibbles and a drink at Rippon Hall to talk about how incremental, sector driven changes can help transform the building eco-system to solve some of its biggest challenges and become part of the solution. This evening follows on from the discussions held at last year’s Summit. A group of businesses and organisations working in this sector got together and started looking at how to make the sector in Wanaka more sustainable. They identified three priorities: building code reform; materials waste, and mental health and wellbeing. This session is going to look at these three challenges with the goal of seeing how we can address them as a community. To help us, we have a number of incredible speakers to talk about what solutions already exist.

Speakers
Better Building - Jason Quinn (Sustainable Engineering Ltd.), Sam (NZGBC), Denis Dowling (DCD)
Materials - Regan Burke (CivilShare), Sophie Mander (QLDC)
Health & Wellbeing - Facilitated by Sam Hudson

Transport to the event - If you can, come on your BIKE, take the BUS (or ferry), CARPOOL or WALK. We’d love to keep this event as low impact as possible!
Plant a tree - We have two off-set partners this year, the Wakatipu Reforestation Trust and Te Kakano Aotearoa Trust. Part of our profits will go to these two amazing organisations. If you want to help regenerate our incredible district, we’ve also set up a tree registry with TREES THAT COUNT. By donating to the registry, you’re putting more native trees into the ground, helping not only reduce our footprint but also providing habitat for our feathered neighbours.
Digital Ticket = Zero Waste - We love empty bins. That’s why we kindly ask you not to print your ticket. Please keep a digital copy in your phone, or take a photo of your computer receipt. That’s all we need to see to let you in!
