Christmas In the Gallery

Christmas In the Gallery exhibition includes several locally based artists including Carole Shepheard, the internationally renowned artist who uses a vibrant palette to suggest that colours can offer their very own language and that the viewer is challenged to decipher the language that is embedded in the art. Sandra Barlow is a water colourist and offers settings that capture the Waikato landscape resplendently. She also presents several individual studies of local fauna and flora.

Yasmin Davis illustrates her ceramics within the larger narrative of the beloved Koru design. Artists from the Sandz Gallery provide a richness and insight into their work within the exhibition. Barbara Nicholson is a talented lead light and mosaic artists whose deco inspired pieces literally shed a different light on the exhibition. Helen Cairney a Wellington based artist uses vibrant colours that captures nature, a local context and vibrant fantasy illustrations placed in rounded settings that are far from their military origins.
