Energise your entrepreneurial spirit and meet-up with other startup enthusiasts at our monthly coffee gathering. Entrepreneur Coffee Jam is free to the first 50 who book a ticket via Eventfinda.

Programming starts at 11.15am. Hear a local entrepreneur give their pitch presentation to the audience followed by a short Q&A with our emcee of the day, NZ Entrepreneur publisher Richard Liew.

This month's event has a Social Enterprise theme where we'll be chatting to Sophie Ward from Wastebusters and Barry Grehan from Urban Village.

Sophie has worked at Wastebusters, a thriving social enterprise leading the way towards zero waste, for more than eight years as a project manager on education and behaviour change programs. She is also a director of Plastic Free Wanaka, a small start up social enterprise who fund their education work by selling reusable shopping bags and other merchandise in Wanaka stores. Most recently Sophie has been working with Akina as a champion for social enterprise in our region.

Barry is co-founder and Community Cultivator at Urban Village, a social enterprise that's developing places on purpose through resident-led property development. He's a rebel banker who saw the (social enterprise) light during many happy years spent at kiwi crowdfunding platform, PledgeMe. He's always keen to chat impact and business done differently.

Following the presentations, participants have an opportunity to share amongst the group, ask for help or input on an issue, and share successes.

The formal meeting concludes by noon, and everyone is invited to stay around and continue the conversation over lunch.

Tickets: Booked via Eventfinda. Each free ticket includes a coffee.

Attire: Business casual

Networking Courtesy: Bring business cards for networking, but don’t pass them out unless asked for one. No selling of services or advertising at the event (branded company shirts, etc. acceptable).
