Jenn Hodgkiss - Edgy Work By a Young Designer

Jenn Hodgkiss is a digital artist and designer. Born in Manchester, England Jenn was brought up in New Zealand from the age of 6. Jenn is a self-confessed goth and interested in all alternative lifestyles and subcultures, which feed into her art and design.

How would you describe what you do?

I work in all forms of art from digital work with a tablet to physical paintings and work with physical materials.

Why do you do this?
Because it makes me happy and I use art as an outlet. I like making art to make people happy.

When did you start?
(in the womb, born holding a crayon) As soon as I could pick up a crayon.

Why did you start?
Because it was fun and made me happy.

What’s your motivation?
My creative personality and love of creating things.

Influences on your work?
Subcultures, the occult, life, and living with depression.

Where do you do it?
Digital art, anywhere. My physical pieces, at my home.

What do you want to do in the future?
Create more, explore more, live more.

What is fun?
Seeing the image go from my mind to reality that I can share with others.

What is difficult?
When I can’t get the image to be exactly how it is in my mind.

What projects for the future?
Everything. I want to learn other arts and make new and interesting things. Creating a line of cards and other pieces.
