Late Night Clay Creations

Explore contemporary creative practices and learn more about the work of upcoming, small-scale ceramics artists in this 3 week late night clay class. Students are encouraged to pursue personal projects through directed lesson plans. Firing and material costs included.

About the tutor: Helen is an Auckland-based creative, writer and zine-maker. She is currently completing a Masters of Communication Studies at Auckland University of Technology, and has previously worked in media, publishing and the arts. She is a self-taught artist and enjoys illustrating, collaging, pottery and experimenting with new forms of digital art. For the past two years, Helen has run her own zine collective which encourages local migrant communities to engage in critical conversations through independent-publishing, as well as arts and craft. She has facilitated workshops in partnership with a number of organisations including Auckland Libraries, Shakti, Mangere Arts Centre - Nga Tohu o Uenuku, and Massey University. Helen’s works have also been displayed in various countries including Hong Kong, Malaysia, Cambodia, Australia and the US.
