Local artist Ro Bradshaw explores the creative process of layering using different substrates and mediums including painting and collage. This workshop is designed with a landscape theme.
The workshops are suitable for all artistic levels, from beginner to accomplished artist,
and experimentation is encouraged.
Ro graduated with a BA in anthropology and a BFA in painting from Dunedin School of Art. She explores the potential of waste material and addresses a variety of themes, in particular the effect of consumption and tourism on the Otago environment.
Ro uses commercial and industrial waste products in her large abstract landscapes. In her smaller still life and landscape works, she uses roadside rubbish collected from State Highway 6 in Central Otago. This rubbish is sorted, cleaned and collaged under printed transparencies to make up the artwork. Ro’s work is held in national and international collections.
