Local artist Sue Marshall teaches the art of mark making
“Mark Making is the broad term used to include all marks that are made visible as a manifestation of applied or gestural energy. It describes the different lines, dots, marks, patterns, and textures we create in an artwork. It can be loose and gestural or controlled and neat. It can apply to any material used on any surface: paint on canvas, ink or pencil on paper, a scratched mark on plaster, a digital paint tool on a screen, a tattooed mark on skin...even a sound can be a form of mark making. This Mark-making workshop is suitable for beginners and more experienced students to experiment freely in a non-judgemental environment.
Sue is a local practising printmaker & exhibiting artist. She completed her Bachelor of Fine Art degree at Curtin University, Western Australia. Her practice is driven by process and materials using screen print, collagraph, etching and painting techniques in her work.
