The Powerade Challenge in Wellington is an interactive 8.5km running course that starts and finishes outside the PWC Building in the Kumutoto Precinct on the Wellington Waterfront:

To start, go to the Powerade Challenge vending machine in Whitmore plaza (outside PWC Building) in the Kumutoto Precinct on the Wellington Waterfront, swipe your wristband or use the Powerade Challenge app on your phone and follow the prompts.

Follow the marked course along the Waterfront and Oriental Parade to the halfway point at the Balaena Bay public bathrooms (this is a small wooden construction located on Evan’s Bay Parade. It’s right next to the footpath and there’ll be some signs to help show you the way).

Swipe your wristband or use the Powerade Challenge app on your phone at the marked Challenge vending machine at Checkpoint B, turn around and head back to the starting point. At the finish point, Checkpoint A, swipe your wristband or use the Powerade Challenge app on your phone to log your time

Each course is marked with checkpoints where participants tag their special RFID Powerade wristband or mobile phone along the way, to keep track of their time and log it on the Powerade leaderboard. They can compare times with family and friends, claim prizes and hydrate afterwards by receiving a free Powerade on completion of their run. Runners can take part as individuals or get a team of mates, family or colleagues together, and take the challenge against other teams, whilst keeping each other motivated.

This year, alongside Powerade ION4, runners will have the option of hydrating with a Powerade Active Water at the finish line. Powerade Active Water is the new sugar free offering from Powerade, which along with the ION4 system and natural flavours, has B Vitamins for energy.

Every time a participant completes the course, they’ll be in to win incredible prizes. The more times you complete the challenge, the more chances you have to win. You can check out what’s up for grabs here https://www.powerade.co.nz/challenge/prizes

To register, go to www.powerade.co.nz or download the Powerade Challenge Mobile App from Google Play or the App Store.
