In this 30 minute talk (included free with your admission) you'll learn about the types of pests and invasive species that we face at Ngā Manu and the different trapping methods we employ. There will be a live trap demonstration and you will also learn about some methods you can use yourself, at home.
The not-for-profit Ngā Manu Trust has been dedicated to the conservation and preservation of our native flora and fauna since 1974 - we protect one of Kāpiti’s largest remnants of coastal lowland swamp forest.
Bring a picnic and come and enjoy the day in nature - see kiwi and tuatara in the nocturnal house, meet our native birds in our walk-through aviaries, spot geckos in their enclosures and join our popular eel feeding talk at 2pm. On Sundays you may also attend our guided forest walk at 2:15pm.
This event is part of Conservation Week 2019 - www.conservationweek.org.nz
