Free lunch is provided.
What to bring: A spade (essential), drink bottle, hat, raincoat? sturdy footwear - lots of uneven ground. 1 to 2 pairs of gloves, Long sleeve top and longs. Gorse can be your friend and enemy.
Health & safety briefing: 10.15am
Toilet: a toilet is located at the house approximately 250m from the gully (planting site)
Jobs: Something for everyone. Walk around site, Planting trees (approx 450), putting down cardboard under trees, setting up tree guards. Help setup lunch, do a bird survey (Kereru count).
Early birds: If you come early it would be great to have some helpers place out the trees with Nathan. Meeting up at 8.45am for a quick briefing and then place them out.
Child friendly? Definitely not for young children. The planting sites are pathways opened up in the scrub (gorse and wattle). It is rough underfoot and so you will need to be reasonably mobile.
