As part of Rotorua Children’s Weekend celebrations there are a wide range of free family activities hosted in various venues around Rotorua over 2 fun-filled days.

The second of these family-friendly days will be the Redwoods Children’s Day on Sunday 3 March 2019 from 1.30pm until 4.30pm.

Children can enjoy an afternoon of free stories, arts, music and forest adventures located at the beautiful Redwood Forest (Long Mile Road).

Free activities include forest games, storytelling, log dig, bucket fun, soundscapes, clay, paint, Taiko drumming, hut building, gymnastics, young artists alfresco art exhibition, and the opportunity to be a star on the stage!

The Travelling Tuataras will bring their own special brand of magic to the forest with interactive stories and songs.

Families are encouraged to bring along a picnic and share lots of laughs with the little people in our lives and treasure the time spent together.

The City Ride bus (route 3) goes to the end of Long Mile Road where you can wander through the Mokopuna Track to the clearing behind the Redwoods i-Site, where most of the activities will be held – rain or shine.

On Saturday 2 March 2019 from 10am until 3pm a range of community groups and organisations will work alongside Rotorua Lakes Council to celebrate children from around the world. Enjoy a wide range of activities with international flavour including crafts, music, games, story-time, face-painting, swimming and much more!

Grab your event passport from any of the following locations and collect stamps from each ‘country’ to be in to win.
