If you have spent any meaningful amount of time in the UK then you will have benefitted from the services of one of the UK's most globally recognized institutions, the National Health Service.

In 2011 Sir Malcolm Grant was appointed as the founding non-executive Chairman of NHS England, the independent body established by Parliament that was charged with holding the NHS budget (around £120bn) and investing it strategically so as to secure significant long-term improvements in healthcare and health outcomes for the population of England. He held that role until October 2018.

Professor Sir Malcolm Grant was born and educated in Oamaru, New Zealand, studying law at Otago. He then headed overseas and enjoyed a career in the academic world including time at Southampton University as a Law Professor and at Cambridge University where he was Head of the Land Economy department and also Pro Vice Chancellor.

He had two periods at University College London where from 2003 to 2011 he was appointed as Provost and President. He is currently Chancellor of the University of York. He was awarded a CBE in 2003 for services to planning law and local government and was knighted in 2013 for services to higher education.

Join us for this great opportunity to hear from the Kiwi who for 7 years was chairing the UK's largest employer and one of the largest healthcare organisations globally.
