Shadbolt – McCormick – “A New Knight for A New Day.”

Mayor Tim Shadbolt of Invercargill is now “Sir Timothy Shadbolt,” with all of the attendant responsibilities!

“Not bad for a Westie with a few protesting convictions under his belt,” says the new Knight.

“And pretty hard on me!” says Gary McCormick, who sees himself as the real worker in the comedy team.

Following a sellout tour of twenty-three golf courses and Clubs ( the “heartland of New Zealand,”as McCormick puts it) in an attempt to understand why Jacinda Adern and Labour won the last election and not their own Pull Yourself Together Party, Gary McCormick and Mayor Tim Shadbolt have had to concede that the better woman won on the day.

Mayor Tim was one of the first to congratulate the new Prime Minister, when he was elected.

“I admire her compassion and understanding. The recent tragic event in Christchurch and her handling of it, has been the subject of world acclaim.”

“We’ve had to recalibrate our show, in view of the new world in which we live, ”says McCormick, “but there are certain values we can all cling to and we will be honouring those.”

Sir Tim remains resolute in his ambition to represent Invercargill to the hilt!

“As the longest serving Mayor in New Zealand history, I have towed many concrete mixers in my time just to make sure that I remain a Mayor. I hereby announce my determination to stand again for the Mayoralty on Invercargill.

With global warming, Invercargill will soon be a tropical paradise!”

The pair will resume their occasional public gatherings as they rebuild the broken vessel that is the Pull Yourself Together Party.

“We welcome feedback, ”says Sir Tim, “which, like most political parties, we feel free to ignore! But come along and have your say.”

Gary McCormick has the final word.

“You’d have to say of our current Prime Minister, that time..and international prestige.. are on her side.

Sir Tim and I have a bit of time on our side – some of which was spent in places you weren’t allowed to leave !”
