Welcoming the Sun around the World with Yoga has been Art of Living’s unique Global Initiative since the establishment of the International Day of Yoga in 2015.

The knowledge of yoga is eternal. This ancient wisdom has withstood the impact of changing times through the ages and is as relevant today as was 5000 years ago. Yoga continues to benefit humanity as a guiding light to lead a healthy and happy life. Yoga’s universality and relevance is unquestionable as this wonderful knowledge transcends beyond the boundaries of nationality, cultures and religions. Yoga has something for everyone and Yoga is for every body.

The ‘Sun Never Sets on Yoga’ offers people a glimpse of how yoga is a universal practice that is also fun, easy-to-do and beneficial for everyone. Participants across the globe will move with the first rays of the sun and make a complete circle, starting in one city and ending with the following sunrise - 24 hours later. This historic event has had yoga enthusiasts doing Surya Namaskars (Sun Salutations) at sunrise in each time zone across the world. People from 145 cities in India and 100 countries around the world rose, and continue to rise with the sun, rolling out their mats in front of historic locations and national monuments to practice yoga. Just like the Sun, yoga is age-old and yet ever-new, spreading light and hope.

As a prelude to the 5th International Day of Yoga (June 21st), join us with your friends and family at Wynyard Quarter, Auckland on June 15th 2019, from 8am, for a FREE 60 minute session of: Sun Salutations, deep relaxation and a guided meditation.

Please note: this event will be weather dependent.
