Everyone's favourite fun run and walk is back for 2019!
This season we'll be based again at the Westshore Beach Inn (85 Meeanee Quay), with the 'racing' taking place across the road beside the Ahuriri Estuary.
The Dates:
'The Shoe Clinic Tuesday Tune-Up' for 2019 will be on Tuesday evenings from February 5 through to our final night with the extra series prizes on March 26.
The Course:
There's a 2km out and back on the limestone pathway for the younger or less athletic inclined, and the 5km adds another out and back on an old (unused) road to make up the distance.
Prizes:
The Shoe Clinic Napier are offering a $25 voucher at each event and, along with Brooks Shoes, will be contributing some major spot prizes at the final event, including a $250 Brooks shoe voucher – these will be offered as an ‘eligibility draw’ on the last night of the series (To be eligible for the $250 Brooks voucher you need to have participated in 6 or more races (2km or 5km) either as a participant or as a registered volunteer. You do not need to be present on the last night to win this prize. There will also be some performance-based prizes presented at the end of the series).
There are two $30 Westshore Beach Inn and PAK Restaurant Food and Drink vouchers available at each round of the Shoe Clinic Tuesday Tune-Up and once again Reading Cinemas are sponsoring a kids pack for the kids to win at each round!
There will also be some other spot prizes on offer on the night. You must be present at prizegiving to be eligible for the spot prizes.
The Points Series:
As an incentive to improve your times, points will be awarded for beating your previous best time in the series.
As your times get faster, improvement becomes more difficult so the points increase later in the series.
To encourage ongoing improvement a bonus is awarded for beating your best time from the previous series. This 'bonus' is available only once.
As an additional award to the regular attendees 1 point will be awarded for each event attended.
