Auckland Clef Music Club’s 72nd Season comes to a close with this November Concert. Those Were the Days will bring us memorable music of any era and provide an opportunity for our Members and Guests to farewell one another and the year 2019, before we meet again in February to commence our 73rd Season.
There’s bound to an interesting variety of music, which will be presented by:
- Anthony Blaschke — bass baritone
- Kate Blazey — soprano
- Gordon Griffin — piano
- Margo Knightbridge — mezzo soprano
- Margaret Lindsay— soprano
- Phyllis Thorburn — soprano
- Everett Thorburn — tenor
and even a surprise appearance from the clef club committee!
There’ll be a Christmas Carol Sing-along and Raffles this month, plus our usual generous supper. However, this time it will be a little different; since it’s our last evening of the year, everyone will bring a plate of festive food to share—Even non-Member guests who bring a plate will not be charged the usual $10 ticket-price.
Newcomers, please note that Clef Club’s concerts are held at the Fickling Centre venue, occurring from February through to November—normally on the third Tuesday of the month. (You can always check our blogspot Clef Club for details.) For those keen on hearing mainly classical, vocal and instrumental music on a regular basis and at reasonable cost, this is the place for you!
Everyone is welcome, either to join up as members, or on a casual basis and, of course, new singers and instrumentalists are especially welcome to augment our pool of Performing Members. Now is the ideal time to come along and see what we’re about, since our new 2019-2020 Season Subscription is just beginning. If you’re a performer, you can also see about arranging an audition.
