The Women in Leadership Breakfast is an annual not-to-be-missed event for young women leaders in Auckland.

Celebrating International Women's Day attendees will hear from guest speakers, workshop with alumni and current students, and learn more about the support and encouragement of women at the University of Canterbury (UC).

Those who will benefit most from this event are Year 12 and 13 female students with leadership potential and an interest in finding out more about UC.

At this inspiring event, each table will be hosted by a UC staff member, current student or graduate. You will also hear from our guest speakers, UC alumni:

Our guest speakers are ready to share their story and assist with workshops; learning about the importance of networking, setting goals, choosing your own path, and developing tools to help overcome challenges. UC alumnae Sharon Zollner, Emily Gualter, and Aja Trinder bring us their stories:

- Sharon Zollner: Chief Economist at ANZ Bank, Sharon Zollner almost dropped economics in her second year at UC. Leading a team of 7 economist, Sharon talks about networking and its importance with succeeding in leadership. Bachelor of Arts in English and Economics, Master of Commerce in Economics.

- Emily Gualter: Engineering from Arrowtown, Emily’s role as an Infrastructure Advisor began as volunteering within the community, and leading projects and events. Founding her own empowerment, personal development and motivational speaking company, Emily shares her story on choosing her own path. Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Civil Engineering, Master of Engineering in Management.

- Aja Trinder: A Prosecutor with the Police Prosecution Service, Aja took on leadership roles throughout her time at UC. Leading students in Te Putairiki, the Māori Law Students Society presented opportunities to learn from challenges and began developing tools to overcome these. Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Laws.

You will have an opportunity to ask questions and to mingle with your table hosts. Helping you to navigate the morning will be current UC students and alumna who attended high school in Auckland alongside our Auckland liaison team.
