William McNeill (French horn) accompanied by Guy Donaldson, gives a recital of horn music: Robert Schumann: Three Romances Opus 94; Trygve Madsen: Sonata Opus 24 - Homage to Franz Schubert:
Franz Schubert: Impromptu in Eb D. 935 no. 3; Jean-Michel Defaye: Alpha; and Jean Francais: Canon in Octave. This is a concert of stirring horn music in the grand brass tradition.
William is a Palmerston North musician in his final year studying for his Masters in Performance, at the Franz Liszt Musikhochschule, Weimar, Germany. William is a contract musician with the Hof Phiharmoniker, Bavaria, and also plays with the Erfurt and Jena smphony orchestras. He previously played with the Rotterdam Philharmonic and the Orchestra of the 18th Century while studying for his Bachelors degree in Rotterdam. The former first hornist of the New Zealand Youth Orchestra has now been accepted to play with the German Youth Orchestra.
