Part of the Auckland Festival of Photography 2020 this photographic series captures idiosyncrasies between public and private worlds. At a world roller-skating championship, both audience members and participants choose to present themselves veiled with costume and makeup.
Though disguised as something other than themselves Williams captures her subjects in moments which reveal something that is intimately personal. Arcane reveals a visually striking world full of fascinating contradictions.
