Let's start soft sculpture!
Learn everything you need to know to begin needle felting, design and create your own adorable and fluffy sheep in a relaxed and supportive environment.
In this beginner friendly workshop, you will have a few options of pure wool colours to create your sheep, as well as options of adorning your sheep with botanical motif accessories. you will learn how to sculpt 3D creations entirely out of natural, undyed, pure New Zealand wool and needle felting technique. learn how to create curly hair layer for the sheep.
in the end of the class, you can add a string at the back to make it a home decor or a baby mobile, or use it as a pin cushion! pure wool contains lanolin, it's a perfect material for a pin cushion to protect your sewing needles! pure wool also can remain fragrance, so it can become an interior defuser with a couple of your favourite perfume, sit on your desk or hang in your vehicle!
needle felting is time consuming, however, it's addictive and therapeutic as well! easy to pick up, but hard to get your hands off!
No experience is necessary. All materials and tools are included. you will leave with your one of a kind wool felted sheep and the skills to continue sculpting at home.
please note: this workshop is not suitable for children, as we will use very sharp tools.

venue: the Maker Workshop at the Arts Centre, located in the School of Art building, on the corner of Rolleston Ave and Hereford St.
booking：Bookings are essential, non-refundable, but you can transfer to other people if you are not able to come. in order to have the best experience, limited spots are available. we also need the minimum participants to run the class. sadly, the class will have to be canceled if there are not enough participants, and you will get your fully refund one day before the event.
