This is the summer highlight of our calendar. With 2 great days of racing in the Wairarapa, strong fields & sharp contests across all grades, it's an event for road cyclists of most abilities. If you've never done a multi day stage race then this is an ideal event to start with.
If you're a more experienced rider/racer then we've got grades to suit you too. Trophies up for grabs for WMCC members, great spot prizes and awards for the 1st 3 in each grade. This event is for Masters age cyclists only - that's women 30+ or men 35+.
Saturday 18th January:
Morning - Prologue - 8k Individual Time Trial. Sets the stage for a great afternoon Graded Road Race
Afternoon - Graded Road Race. A-E grades 53km F grade 47km
Sunday 19th January:
Morning - Graded Road Race. A-C grades 77km D-F grades 47km
Grades A-E are the more competitive grades. F grade is for those who may be brand new to road racing who perhaps are not used to the faster pace rides. Or for those who have in the past found themselves getting dropped from the E grade and end up riding alone. We want the F grade to ride together, contest the sprints, then help the bunch through to the finish of each of the Graded Road Races.
