Approx. 18 Special Stages over 264 kilometres on what are widely regarded as the world’s best gravel rally roads await competitors in the 2020 International Rally of Whangarei.
The fast cambered roads of the north will host for the 14th consecutive year the second round of the 2020 FIA Asia Pacific Rally championship, the series also visiting Australia, Japan, Indonesia and China.
The event is also the second round of the 2020 Brian Green Property Group New Zealand Rally Championship.
We will also have a strong Clubmans field full of locals and drivers from across the country.
8 May - 2020 Official Rally Start & Super Special Stage:
Pohe Island, Whangarei – An evening of action from approx 5.00pm (TBC) on Friday 8 May for all ages.
- Approx. 5pm onwards – All rally cars will be on display on the Te Matau ā Pohe Bridge. See the cars up close, meet the drivers, grab an autograph. American superstar Ken Block and Irish driver Frank Kelly will both be there - which will be sure to bring the crowds!
- Approx. 6pm – Official opening of the event
- Approx. 6:15pm – First rally car over the start ramp
- Approx. 7:13pm – Pohe Island Super Special Stage – All rally competitors will complete the 1km gravel super special stage under lights. Sweeping corners, hairpin bends, under the overbridge, and over the great jump, providing several prime viewing positions. Live rally commentary, plenty of parking
9 May - Special Stages South of Pahia and north of Whangarei
10 May - Special Stages South of Whangarei with the finish at the Quayside Town Basin
Buy your rally tickets at: Rally Headquarters (Ground Floor, Northland Events Centre, 51 Okara Drive, Whangarei from Wednesday 6 May) or Gate Sales available on event. Under 15 kids free.
Friday Pohe Island Pass - Adults $20 at the gate (Pre-sales $15).
3 Day Pass $35 at the gate (Pre-sales $30).
Sat or Sun Rural Stage Day Pass - Adults $10 (Daily all sales).
