Join us for an evening with Professor Cathy Stinear, as she shares the latest on her research, including how new biomarkers are helping to personalise rehabilitation for people recovering from stroke.

Professor Cathy Stinear leads a research group of biomedical scientists and clinicians who work with stroke patients at Auckland Hospital. The team's days are focused on developing effective prediction tools and treatments to improve rehabilitation outcomes and support patients as they adjust to life after stroke.

"The work we're doing is in the real world. We're very privileged to be working with people within a day or two of their stroke while they're in hospital. We're now able to carefully identify patients and target their treatments more appropriately. Personalised medicine is the new frontier for stroke recovery."

The event will begin promptly at 6.30pm, following with an opportunity for audience members to ask questions.

There will be a mix and mingle with drinks and nibbles after the event from 7.30pm onwards.

There is off-street car parking, as well as a pay and display car park (Montgomery Square Carpark) located a short 10-minute walk away.

Although this event series is free to attend, any donation you can make, no matter how big or small, is much appreciated. When you donate, you are helping researchers and scientists to make breakthroughs in our understanding and treatment of neurological conditions, conditions that affect 1 in 5 Kiwis.
