Students learn public speaking, acting and drama skills, vocal skills (quality, articulation, grammar), how to read poetry and tell stories.

These classes, run by Shine School of Confidence, teach children to speak more confidently, communicate more effectively, improve their listening skills and use their imaginations.

Classes are small to ensure children receive specialised, one-on-one attention so enrol early to secure space. This class runs over 8 weeks.

Examinations: Professional certificate and diploma qualifications are offered through Speech NZ and the Trinity College of London. Exams are not compulsory.

Teaching artist Tessa Mitchell has taught drama to children and teenagers for more than 20 years with Performance Net, The Performing Arts School and Isabel Fish Academy. She has a degree in dramatic arts/acting from Melbourne’s Victorian College of Arts and a Masters in spatial design/performance from AUT.

Shine Speech & Drama classes inspire confidence and imagination in kids, helping them to communicate effectively and build self-belief, while having fun of course! Classes are tailor-made for building confidence, individual growth and learning.

Kids learn to speak more confidently, communicate more effectively, improve their listening skills and use their imaginations. Shine School of Confidence Shine was founded by Nina Burchett, who has acted in film, theatre and television in New Zealand, Australia, the UK and USA.
