This is a fun, practical workshop to get your seeds sown. I provide the seeds, the soil and the pots. In 90 minutes you’ll learn and practice how to sow seeds that free you from the limitations and costs of buying seedlings from garden centres. Buying seedlings is often an easy and quick way to fill your garden. However, they’re expensive and don’t offer the variety open to you if you know how to sow seeds. Take away your seeds sown in pots. Suitable for beginners or experienced gardeners who need something to get them started.
Wear flat, covered shoes. Bring gardening gloves and a mask as we'll be handling compost. Please arrive at the centre 15 minutes before the start to allow yourself time to park and get settled in. Please enter through the front entrance on Karamu Road and sign in at reception. We'll start on time so if you arrive late and the door is locked, please ring the bell.
These workshops are sponsored by Hastings District Council, please register via Eventfinda to secure your place only if you are definitely going to attend. Numbers are limited, no door sales. $10 per person payable in cash on the day covers costs of materials you'll use in the workshop.
Held at The Environment Centre Hawke's Bay, 1004 Karamu Road, Hastings. This event is part of Sustainable Backyards 2020. We have a wide range of events running throughout November so be sure to visit our Eventfinda to find out more!
