Here’s your chance to get informed about the End of Life Choice Act with journalist and author of best-selling book The Final Choice, Caralise Trayes.
Hosted by broadcaster and Hamilton City Councillor Mark Bunting.
With 10 years of journalism experience Caralise has approached the topic of assisted dying by interviewing more than 20 experts on both sides of the argument in her best-selling book about her hunt for truth.
She tells the stories of those with terminal illness and interviews lawyers, doctors, ethicists and clerics around New Zealand and the world.
Caralise has featured on TV3’s The Project and The Cafe, Radio NZ, Newstalk ZB and Magic Radio.
Caralise will share some of what she has discovered, so you too can make an informed choice. Her book will also be on sale at the conclusion of the meeting.
Hear Hamilton student Rachel Major, 18, share her story and participate in a Q&A live interview. Rachel’s father Glenn died in 2011 when she was just nine years old after a fight with brain cancer. The Waikato Diocesan School for Girls head girl brings a personal perspective to the key issues surrounding assisted dying.
