MOVE YOUR BODY, SHIFT YOUR MIND

2020 will go down in history as being remarkable for many reasons, as we have all had to endure the implications of a global pandemic. We have all spent time in bubbles, self-isolation and probably more time indoors than we would have liked. The Mudder is the perfect event to sign up to for some fresh air activity and something to look forward to in September. Whilst it is challenging it is mostly about having fun and we all need more of that in our lives this year.

So what makes The Mudder unique? If you ask the 2500+ entrants from previous years they will all tell you different things but one thing they all agree on is that this course is up there with the best, and there is plenty of mud to get filthy in. This is no flat, dawdle around some obstacle course on the edge of suburbia. The rugged hill country of the southern Rangitikei makes for plenty of lung burning and calf-aching even before you throw in the obstacles.

The course is designed to encompass the natural assets of the working sheep and beef farm it is hosted on. Many of the obstacles are based on natural springs that see guaranteed mud all year round. There is a dam with a floating island to crawl over, a 100-year-old tree with roots straight out of a Hobbit scene and plenty of dams, bogs, and hills. Throw in some man-made obstacles and you have a course that guarantees fun, laughter and a great day out. And don't forget the 50m long, super slide down the last hill that many do more than once!

The 3km course will again be opened up to students from Years 7 and 8, giving them the chance to enjoy all the main thrills for only $10! Students wanting to enter this category will need to be accompanied by a parent as well, and they will complete the 3km course together. That gives kids a great excuse to drag Mum or Dad out for some good old fashioned muddy fun.

With 3km, 5km or 8km course options, The Mudder has something to suit both elite athletes and complete novices. Enter as a business or family for great team building or as a single if you are looking for a personal challenge. Costumes are welcome and encouraged and there will be some great prizes for the best-dressed teams and individuals.

Entries open on 1st May at 12 am.

We do take our responsibilities as event managers seriously and we will stringently adhere to ALL the protocols surrounding COVID - 19 and the NZ lockdown levels.
This includes refunding all ticket purchases if the event is not able to take place due to lockdown restrictions, fingers crossed!
