The Tri Taranaki Festival is returning for its 10th year in 2020, with more fun and action than ever before!

Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Mt Taranaki, with six fantastic events spanning one weekend, this is a triathlon festival you won’t want to miss!

Participants can look forward to a swim in the Tasman sea, a cycle on the short, sharp hills of Mt Taranaki shadowed by the beautiful slopes, and an exhilarating run along a blue carpet lined with cheering supporters.

The Tri Taranaki Festival is a favourite for everyone from first-timers, to seasoned triathletes. With free entry for spectators, it’s also a great day out for people wanting to watch the action. PLUS live streaming is also available through our website here: https://www.tritaranakifestival.nz/page/watch/

With the 2020 Olympics on the horizon, the Taranaki ITU World Cup Race will be the final opportunity for athletes to qualify for a spot in Tokyo. The weekend also features the Oceania junior and relay races. This is a fantastic opportunity to watch the world’s best and up-and-coming battle it out, right here in Taranaki.

Not just for top athletes though, we also have a range of events open to people of all levels!

The NZ Sprint Championships is perfect for people who want to complete a triathlon in a half the time. Complete a 750m Swim, 20km bike ride and 5km run as an individual or with your #TriTribe.

The festival also features the Taranaki Tri-er event – a mini triathlon ideal for anyone who wants to get involved. Participants will complete a 200m swim, 8km bike and 1.7km run and experience the thrill of participating in a triathlon.

We’ll also be holding our annual Fun Run! Whether you choose to complete the 1.7km, 3.3km or 5km course, the Fun Run is a great way to participate in the excitement of this major event.

Plus, with half of all entry fees for the Fun Run being donated to local charity The Mellowpuff Trust, you will know that your participation is making a positive difference to the lives of Taranaki children facing adversity.

Whether you’re a seasoned athlete, weekend warrior or total newbie to the world of triathlons, the Tri Taranaki Festival has something for everyone!

What are you waiting for? Give it a Tri! Enrol now to be part of the action!
