For the first class, students will make a fire poker or garden stake. The following lessons students will be able to choose from other projects progressing in difficulty.
This class is about learning by doing, the classes are designed to teach blacksmithing techniques through a series of mini-projects, including making and using your own blacksmithing tool. The classes can be attended on a casual basis or sequentially working towards an advanced project.
Our classes of up to eight students are a great team-building experience and are suitable for all skill levels. Students will receive an induction covering basic use of the forge, blacksmithing tools and power tools along with standard workshop health & safety practices.
Projects can include, tool making and decorative work like:
- Fire poker, bottle openers, wall hooks or brackets
- Tongs, hammers and punches
- Utensils (not knives) - Spatula, spoon, meat fork
- Jewellery such as pendants and cuffs
Please note: This is not a knife making class.
