Immortalize a keepsake by casting it in bronze!
This class is perfect for casting found or precious objects such as shells, acorns, coins, chunky jewellery or small sculptures. For the best results, objects should be 3-3.5cm2.
In this class, you will learn how to make a two-part sand casting mold and prepare your keepsake for casting. We'll cover the materials used, the melting point of bronze and how to get an accurate metal pour. Once the metal is poured and cooled you'll get to polish it up and apply a coloured patina to give a contrasted/aged finish, works best with textured surfaces!
Please note: As the keepsake will have mold release powder applied we don't recommend soft / fabric items. Due to the nature of the process, there is a chance the mold will cast incorrectly, fragile or super thin (under 1mm) objects may break and have a lower success rate.
