F.A.W.C! Lane Road Petanque Society

Welcome to Lane Road Pétanque Society “Buenos Aires edition”, because they play Pétanque in Buenos Aires too – BOCCE!

And since they are champions when it comes to grass fed beef, lamb and all sorts of sausages we joined forces with our friends Duncan, Annabel and team from the Patangata Station and their knowledgeable master butcher and all around good guy John, to bring you a true autumn Argentinian street party. Paddock to plate. Raised & butchered by them. Cooked by us. Think open fire cooking, ceviche, sausages, grilled beef and empanadas. Some special baked goods from Moïse the French baker (Ya Bon) and the vinos to match!

Smith & Sheth have just released their Albariño and it is out of this world. As well as their amazing Chardonnay, Syrah, their newly released Rosé and Cantera – a big flagship of a red that will find its way into our special “Bocce Sausage”. Chris from Giant will be brewing an autumn style beer for the day that will be on keg and a brew for the purists, poured by the man himself.

For the tunes we have our mates local Soul Agent and Murry Sweetpants on the decks to keep those hips shaking. Unfortunately our good friend Scott Towers aka Chopper Reeds from Fat Freddie’s is double booked for that day, so he won’t be joining us on the day, but he’ll make sure he’s going to put some elbow grease in with Mathias in the kitchen.

The shuttles will go back and forth from 11.45am – 1.15pm between Smith & Sheth (Village Exchange Havelock North) and Kōtare Estate and then bring people back down from 3pm - 4pm. Our larger than life friend and host of the day Jodi Sweetpants will make sure nobody will be left behind. Nimons is only allowing a 24 Seater up Lane Road, so if you have to wait about 20 min for the bus to return, don’t be shy and pop into the Oenotèque for a post game glass of vino. We will release an exact timetable of the shuttles closer to the time.
Please note there won’t be any parking at the venue, so you will have to use the shuttle service.

We know it is not very Argentinian, but we decided you will still get your free glass of French Champagne on arrival at Kōtare Estate , curated by Sonja, the Sommelier of Smith & Sheth.

Ticket price includes: transport to/from event location, complimentary glass of champagne on arrival (cash bar follows), all food on the day, entertainment. Please use the shuttles provided and do not go to the venue directly.
