The 4th session of "The Cheese Board" is themed in honour of Bastille Day!

We will be showcasing a decadent French melting cheese, "Raclette", as well as two other French cheeses at the next The Cheese Board meeting on Wednesday, 7 July to celebrate Bastille Day.

Raclette is a semi-firm, salted cheese with an aromatic flavour and a fragrant creamy texture. We will be heating a round of raclette under a portable grill, then scraping off the deliciously melted top layer onto crispy bread for you to taste. It is truly an amazing way to taste cheese.

Each of the cheeses will be matched with a wine from one of our outstanding local wineries.

"The Cheese Board" is held at The Wine Station and is hosted by cheese guru, Virginnia Thomas - a monthly get together for you to talk, taste and discover all things cheese.

Virginnia is a passionate cheese aficionado, who amongst other career highlights, has been inducted into the prestigious French Guilde Internationale des Fromagers, with the title Garde et Juré (guard and judge) for her work with French specialty cheese and is only one of three people in Australasia to be awarded the American Cheese Society title of Certified Cheese Professional.

Tickets are $40 per person, which includes tasting of three cheeses with a wine match & tasting notes. Q&A session with Virginnia thereafter. Pre-bookings essential.

The Wine Station is centrally located at the 1906 heritage building, Blenheim Railway Station. The Wine Station is a showpiece for Marlborough wine and artisan food products.
