An Interactive Art installation presented by local artist Bek Coogan.
Drop in for the Photobooth and Card Making Session Saturday 27 November 12pm - 4:00pm
This installation looks at the current housing crisis via the story of recycled Rimu sarking, saved from housing demolition in Newtown. For this timely return of the Rimu ie, 'Christmas' some of the tropes of the Christmas narrative are being used to contemplate the relevance of this wood as a voice in today's current housing crisis, as it alerts us to the relationship we have with ‘natural resources’.
Come and be part of the installation just by being 'present'. Daily events will be announced such as photo booth opportunities, carol singing, decoration making, and seed planting. Consider this the antidote to ‘consumer-driven Christmas shopping’. All are welcome.
This project is supported by Urban Dream Brokerage and Wellington City Council.
