Since 2010, athletes of all levels from around the world have gathered on the shores of Ngāmotu beach, ready to race after months of intense training. Adrenalin pumping and minds focused, the anticipation builds as competitors and spectators await the whistle to kick off the Tri Taranaki Festival.

Although we had big plans for 2021 due to COVID-19 we have had to cancel hosting the World Triathlon Cup however we will be running an amazing national triathlon day!

The 28 March will see the NZ Schools Triathlon Champs and North Island Sprint Champs hosted at Ngamotu Beach. But this weekend isn’t just for New Zealand's top athletes. Our Taranaki Tri-er and Fun Run events are for anyone who wants to give the sport a go and raise funds for a local charity!

Want to be part of the action, but not compete? Spectators can enjoy the festival for free, and those who can’t make the event can witness every thrilling second through our live streaming, of the entire event.
