Come and explore the lush greenery that's hiding within our city. The group welcomes your help to restore the beautiful native forest in the Mangaonua Esplanade gully in Silverdale. This is an excellent chance to see a very successful gully restoration project in action!
This time of year the main work is weeding honeysuckle vines. Bring sun protection and wear sturdy footwear, a long-sleeved shirt and long trousers or leggings as protection from cuts or scratches. Our main tools are gloves and secateurs, but if you do not have any we will lend you some. On Thursdays, we usually bring something for our own small morning tea. On Saturdays, we just work straight through.
Meet across the road from 11 Silverdale Road, Hamilton, by the white shed.
